Martin High School proudly inducted a new class of distinguished alumni into the 2025 Tiger Legends during a heartfelt ceremony held at the school’s library. The honorees, celebrated for their exceptional achievements and contributions, were welcomed with a standing ovation as they returned to the school that shaped their paths.
During the event, honorary students paid tribute to each inductee, sharing their inspiring stories through personalized biographies and presentations. The ceremony served as a reminder of the lasting impact these alumni have made in their respective fields and communities. Students introducing the honorees included Julie Martinez, Eloy Lopez, Marco Trejo, Athena Ponce, Frank Guerrero, Joselynn Ramirez, Nicole Marin, Jennifer Mosqueda, Natalie Gonzalez, and Rolando Martinez.
This year’s inductees include alumni who have demonstrated leadership, dedication, and success beyond their time at Tigerland: Maria L. Nanez, 1978; Juan Paz, 1983; Gloria A. Rodriguez, 1991; Rogelio J. Garcia, 1992; Jesus Reynoso De Cordova, 1992; Sergio “Red” Lopez, 1993; Rebecca Morales, 1993; Amber Hernandez, 2005; Oscar Widales, 2005; and Carlos “CJ” Martinez, 2012.
Mario Mireles, principal of MHS, reflected on the school's legacy and the meaningful traditions that connect past and present generations. “Our inductees embody the spirit and resilience of the mighty Tigers,” said Mireles. “Their stories of perseverance, hard work, and passion are an inspiration to our current students. We are grateful for their words of wisdom and the example they set for future generations.”
The ceremony concluded with a celebration of achievements, uniting alumni, students, and faculty in honoring the rich history and bright future of the flagship high school of Laredo, Martin High.
