Martin High School inducted a new class of distinguished alumni into the 2026 Tiger Legends during a heartfelt ceremony held in the school library. The honorees, recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and lasting contributions, were welcomed back to their alma mater with warm applause as they reunited with the campus that helped shape their journeys.
During the event, honorary students introduced each inductee by sharing personal biographies and reflections on their achievements. Their presentations highlighted the diverse paths these alumni have taken and the meaningful impact they continue to make in their professions and communities. The ceremony offered students a unique opportunity to learn directly from leaders whose roots began at Martin High.
This year’s Tiger Legends represent generations of excellence and service, each leaving a lasting mark beyond Tigerland: Dr. Miguel A. Solis Jr., Class of 1995; Mario Perez, Class of 1973; Estela Gallegos-Perez, Class of 1946; Juan “Juan in a Million” Meza, Class of 1972; Dr. Laura H. Hernandez, Class of 1976; Veronica V. Orduño, Class of 1981; Juan J. Gomez, Class of 1982; Geraldina Arredondo, Class of 1983; Margarita B. Chavez, Class of 1983; Francisco J. Mata, Class of 1991; and Ricardo Gonzalez, Class of 1993.
Mario Mireles, principal of Martin High School, reflected on the significance of honoring alumni whose achievements continue to inspire future generations. “Our Tiger Legends exemplify determination, leadership, and a deep commitment to giving back,” said Mireles. “Their experiences remind our students that greatness can begin right here, and that the values learned at Martin High can open doors to extraordinary opportunities.”
The morning concluded with a heartfelt tribute to tradition as alumni, students, staff, and families joined together for the Tiger Fight Song. With arms linked and voices raised, generations of Tigers stood united in a moment that echoed the spirit of their school days. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder that the spirit of the Tigers lives on through every generation that walks the halls of Martin High School.
