Congratulations to their Attendance Teams and Principals! Arminda Gonzalez - Nixon High School - 2,944 interventions, Sirenia Serrano - Zachry Elementary School - 2,800 interventions, Mariana P. Vazquez - Christen Middle School - 2,751 interventions (not in picture), Noe G. Gamez - Martin High School - 2,284 interventions (not in picture), Eva Palomo - Ligarde Elementary School - 1,151 interventions, and Roberto Arteaga - Sanchez/Ochoa Elementary School - 1,073 interventions.

The Student of the Month Program is designed to recognize worthy students for their exemplary academic efforts, community service, citizenship, athletics, or volunteer service. The student should demonstrate average academic effort, good school attendance and good discipline. The nominated student should also demonstrate one of the four Leading the Way categories; Leading with Heart, Inspiring Change, Supports Growth, and Drive Results.

LISD to observe Thanksgiving Holiday
The Laredo Independent School District campuses and administrative offices will be closed beginning Monday, November 20, through Friday, November 24, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

LISD to host Specialty Schools Open House
Laredo Independent School District will be hosting its annual Specialty Schools Open House at each campus for eighth grade students and their parents on Saturday, November 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The seven specialty schools will open their doors to the community and invite eighth grade students to tour the campus and apply for admission for the 2024-2025 school year.
The event is aimed at recruiting students who may be interested in attending any LISD specialty school for the 2024-2025 school year. The seven early college high schools and magnet school include the Business, Industry, and Public Services Early College Academy at Nixon High School, Sabas Perez Early College High School at Cigarroa High School, Dr. Dennis D. Cantu Health Science Early College High School at Martin High School, Hector J. Garcia Early College High School located at Texas A&M International University, Pathways to Technology Early College High School at Cigarroa High School, Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources (AFNR) P-TECH at Martin High School, and the Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts Magnet School.
